Devil May Cry: Dante is more than just a transcribed action hero

During my time as a video player I have many gaminghen, their worlds, stories and characters, and also learned love. A special role is playing for me the Devil May Cry series and, above all, its main character Dante, because they have shown me that even devils can have all human presents.

Sven Raabe

Sven has since Devil May Cry 3: Dante's awakening big fan of the action series and has not only spent countless hours with the different games of the series, but also all stories off the games.

To cool for the world: Dante as an exaggerated stylish action hero

The declared goal of the developers for Dante was to create a character whose coolness is dripping from each polygon. He should not only look casual, talk and behave, but to a certain extent the personification of all that we connect with this term. Dante should be quasi actually to cool for this world.

And at first glance, this may also be voices, because whether in the sometimes wonderfully worn intermediate sequences or in the game itself, the main character does not take nothing and nobody seriously. Most opponents are a joke for him and especially in his young years, which we experience in Devil May Cry 3, he leaves no chance for spices unused.

Good exaggeration: times he surfs on a rocket through the air, only to be briefly piled up by a gigantic sword and pulling the weapon out of the body as if only a mosquito stabbed him. Dante looks like a character from an exaggerated action anime like Dragon Ball and that's a reason why I love the figure so much.

STYLISHER Combat style: The developers consistently pull the coolness of their stretching in all matters, because its overhead beings and oversized ego are reflected in the gameplay. More precisely in the newlywitzen combos, where not only the controller, but also the screen threatens to explode every second. However, that's just a reason why I won Dante as a character so nice.

A nearby character with heart

In addition, what has always been very well pleased with Dante, is that he is not a radiant hero. Well, he has already saved the world in his previous adventures, but there are no classy motifs. He is not a Superman, who does the right thing, because it is obviously the right thing. Instead, his motivations are, though it is half the demon, human.

Comprehensible revenge: If we see Dante in Devil May Cry for the first time, it will quickly realize that he does not kill demons for fun - good, maybe a little bit. Rather, he is about doing as many as possible from them, as they took his family, his mother and his brother. Granted, that's not necessarily a complex motif, but one who probably can understand each of us.

Devil May Cry 5

That Dante is not consumed by his dark side, lies on the connections to his companions and the memories of his family. It becomes clear several times that give him the other characters he encounters strength, make him stronger and drive him. He also wants to prevent them from undergoing similar trauma as he.

Dante is certainly a character that polarizes with his exceeded species and simply seems ridiculous on some because of his exaggerated coolness. For me, however, this makes him a figure that remains in mind and that keeps me in mind that sometimes the most inhuming characters are most similar in video games.
