The Ascent in Tech Check and played-impression: Xbox versions make a top figure
The Ascent is here: Since last night, the Cyberpunk baller can be played among other things via the Xbox Game Pass. Most fans are very pleased and this impression also includes the technology experts from Digital Foundry. College Dennis also looks like this: The Ascent looks great, spraying a lot of atmosphere and runs outstanding on the Xbox consoles. Only the loading times on Xbox One (x / s) leave to be desired and more fine cut would have done well.
The Ascent on Xbox: That's what the technology experts from Digital Foundry to the console version
It runs very well: Apparently both the Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X versions of The Ascent work without major dropouts, ruckler or bugs. Especially the graphic white on all platforms to inspire, the Xbox One of course has to live with a few smears. For example, the maximum dynamic resolution is slightly lower.
Loading times on Xbox One: The only really big criticism is in the art. While Xbox Series S / X players do not have to wait as good as at all, the loading times on the older Xbox One-consoles without SSD are naturally long. In numbers up to two and a half minutes, while it continues on the new generation after about 30 seconds. But that was basically already taken. Overall, the Xbox versions seem to run very well.

That tells her who the Ascent could already try
Extremely positive feedback: Also with the players * inside, which were already allowed to create hand to The Ascent, mostly are quite excited. This is not only reflected in the first metacritic evaluations and comments, but also in the comments under the test video of our Gamestar colleague Maurice.
While with his PC trial still a whole lot of trouble had, the problems with the Day One patch and the Xbox consoles actually no longer seem to play a role. At least a lot of enthusiastic The Ascent Players report that they could easily play without rucklers and even without bugs.
R3Llik's Channel writes, for example, on YouTube:
"But only with you on the PC is broken again. Yesterday 10 hours of co-op on the XSX to four VIERT gambled and 0 problems."
Sasch Thedasch can only agree with the:
"On the Series X, the game runs flawlessly and makes me a lot of fun."
Alex S. encourages exactly the same horn:
"Habs also played at the Series X for 2 hours last night, I do not meet me a single bug. I really like the game very well, makes a lot of mood and the unused setting really pulls me in the spell :)"
It is very similar in the commentary with us on Gampro. There are a few reviews about bugs, but most of them seem to be able to play without difficulty. Like, for example, Slcarlsson:
"So honestly, I played tonight with my buddy three hours Couch Coop on the One X. We did not have a single problem."
How the game has presented itself during the test phase of the Gamestar, you can see here.
The Ascent played: So the Xbox Game passport title comes to us
[Mr. Michel, take over!]

But loving, David. Unfortunately, unfortunately we have reached a test pattern, it was synonymous with me only last night via Xbox Game pass. Accordingly, it was said in advance that I can give you only a first imprint after about two days of the game. But (!), This is the personally astonishment to Maurice's report on numerous technical defects of the PC version far more positive than expected.
Series X-Version technology: For my great pleasure, The Ascent runs without great problems. Neither has a completely crowded game presented, nor did I struggle with the frame rate. The greatest wedding drop was already the lack of raytracing support. Setting options or a second graphics mode are not supported on consoles according to developers. Why this does not matter to the weight, just more.
All without smaller bugs, the game does not come out. Especially the German texts - a German setting does not exist - are partly faulty or appear immediately in English. Also, I could not collect Loot (money) and many NPC or opponents probably had me so much that he was adhered to my character. Reload, keep it up.
Optical initial impression: From it, a graphically extremely impressive game has been presented to me at the first and second looks. The Ascent is dripping in front of cyberpunk atmo, the local scenes are crammed with small details and what the topic of lighting effects and shadows on the Series X is concerned, that's damn, damn chic.
And? ... does the thing now fun?
At least in the first few hours I got exactly what I expected: a demanding but from the degree of difficulty motivating-faire twin Stick-Ballery with cool weapon armsal, fun boss fighting, satisfactory Loot collecting and well, a story that stops .
The biggest mankos: Two things, however, I noticed directly negatively. On the one hand, I'm not too big fan of the menu. That seems far more cumbersome than it would have to be. But far worse, and here we come to the biggest drawback, are the healing opponents. The namely the border of your movement radius, make it turns and heal up instant. That feels very strange then and annoyed.
Conclusion: The Ascent is clearly missing the last fine and a release in August would not have damaged the game. Without question. I am surprised how well the game in the points performance and optics presented at the Series X - at least after the part of great criticism from tests (without the day1 patch)
If you have a buck on cyberpunk, Twin Stick-Ballerei and Levels and Loten, then look at the thing at least once Via Game Pass. Also, if you want to coop action. Here, however, it should be noted that I could not play the mode yet, at least on the PC version before release gave big problems.
Have you already tried the Ascent? How do you find the game, how is it going?
