Metzeln until the arm drops: God of War 2 should offer '40 hours gameplay'
God of War is now allocated especially named Cory Barlog. However, at the very first part of the series for the PS2, Barlog was only senior animator. At that time, the post of Game Director had a certain David Jaffe, a legend under PlayStation fans. And just that David Jaffe now expressed himself to the development of God of War: Ragnarok.
So many hours of fun game could offer God of War 2
According to Jaffe, we will spend around 40 hours with God of War: Ragnarok (via YouTube). So a whole lot for an action adventure (even if there are RPG elements). So many even that Jaffe himself believes that God of was was basically not for 40 hours, alone already to protect the developers.
Clear that Jaffe, who is also responsible for the Twisted Metal Games, is still interested in developing new God of War parts, even if he is not directly involved. His statement should be taken accordingly seriously, especially since there is still a close reference to Cory Barlog, for the Jaffe at God of War II cleared the place as Game Director.
But Jaffe admits that nevertheless nothing is carved in stone:
Is that safe? No. Things are cut, things are added. But what I can say at the moment - 40 hours gameplay is the goal of developers that they want to achieve with God of War.

The campaigns of God of War and Ragnarok in comparison
None of us has previously played God of War: Ragnarok, so at this point we can only use David Jeffe's statement and compare with the playing time of the first (reboot) part. The problem is that Jaffe is apparently not sure if the 40 hours are ranging for the platinum trophy, or only representing a passage of the campaign. If someone talks about the length of a game, it is usually meant a normal run and no Completionist / 100pm Run.
So long is God of War: If we assume that the 40 hours concerning a campaign playthrough, God of War 2 will far exceed the predecessor, for which we needed a good 21 hours (via HLTB) - There were 40 hours a little too much. With co-missions, however, we are at just under 33 hours, which is probably what Jaffe means here.
A Completionist Run of God of War lands on average at almost 53 hours, but that Ragnarok will be shorter than the game of 2018 is rather unlikely.
So long is the original trilogy: That God of War: Ragnarok The reboot of 2018 is supposed to surrender at the season is all the more impressive when we look at the first three games of the series. All three parts offer a rather short and crisp campaign. At the first offshoot, it's good nine hours, with part 2 12 to 13 hours and when completing the trilogy for the PS3 it is ten to eleven hours.
Current developments to God of War 2:
- God of War: Ragnarok should be like The Last of US 2 and let us play Atrus
- God of War Studio works well on new fantasy game
- God of War 2-team will be threatened after shifting desert - Director is protecting that
God of War-Gameplay already this week?
We still do not know when God of was: Ragnarok will appear, but this week it could finally see gameplay on the PlayStation Showcase on Thursday. There are several hints.
On the one hand, a leader wanted to learn from an insider that God of War 2 will be represented at the event. And David Jaffe also expressed himself to the showcase. He did not reveal what games to be seen, but believes that you will lose your mind.
What do you think of a 40-hour campaign for God of War 2?
