The last distance that Burbank was still missing for the record was Sherbet country.

Original article:

It is Matthias Rustemeyer, who started his hunt for best times in the racing game in 2008 - so ten years ago. Since this day he has placed numerous records and stands worldwide at 31 of 32 routes in the first place. The still outstanding record, however, is a very tricky challenge.

According to a report by the Magazine Kotaku, this is mainly due to the fact that a kind of alliance has formed in the Speedrunner community. By all means, Rustemeyer also prevents the last record in Mario Kart 64 and thus would almost be the sole ruler in this category. (Source: Kotaku)

Incidentally, the said route is Donkey Kong s Jungle Parkway, which is considered one of the most demanding disciplines in the racing game classic. Only recently Rustemeyer could underbid the topstores, but nearly at the same time was one of his competitors - Daniel Burbank - three hundredths faster.

However, the German can not dissuade his project to become the sole record holder soon. The next attempts are already running, and maybe he actually succeeds in the near future.
